// The path

You don't take courses.
You climb.

01

Interview

SE-1 learns where you are and where you want to go — in your own words.

02

Trajectory

A complete, personalized path with a known destination. You always see the climb.

03

Apprenticeship

Real work, real breakdowns, real coordination. You ship — and prove it works.

04

Commission

SE-1 certifies you can build. You hold the portfolio that proves it.

// The ascent

Seven levels.
Novice to pioneer.

Every track climbs the same seven. The content changes — the ascent doesn't. You always see exactly where you stand.

  1. 01 Initiate Novice You follow the recipe. SE-1 hands you the exact steps — and you ship your first real thing.
  2. 02 Apprentice Advanced beginner You start to see the patterns. The rules begin to bend to context.
  3. 03 Journeyman Competent You plan, you choose, you own what you ship. Most reach job-ready here — your Commission.
  4. 04 Craftsman Proficient You read the whole board. Priorities become instinct, not a checklist.
  5. 05 Architect Expert You act without the rulebook. You see what matters at a glance.
  6. 06 Master Mastery You set the standard others follow — and make the craft itself better.
  7. 07 Pioneer Frontier You build what has no name yet. You open ground no one has walked.

The ascent is the Dreyfus model of skill acquisition — created by brothers Stuart E. Dreyfus, a mathematician, and Hubert L. Dreyfus, a philosopher, at UC Berkeley in 1980, commissioned by the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research to understand how pilots move from following rules to acting on instinct under pressure. It became one of the most influential accounts of how people actually learn — carried into nursing by Patricia Benner's From Novice to Expert (1984), and into medicine, aviation, and engineering ever since. We build on their work — the five stages from Novice to Expert, and the mastery beyond — and add a seventh rung of our own, Pioneer, for the frontier that has no map yet.

// Where you're going

Begin with Applied AI Engineering.

Then chips, robotics, security, infrastructure — and the roles that don't have names yet. One academy. Every frontier.

// A learning trajectory

AI-Native Teamwork Certification.

A real certification — lessons, videos, exercises and quizzes drawn from Anthropic's Claude Academy — with SE-1 beside you to go deeper on any concept, and to steady the mood when learning gets hard. You bend the path to your own team as you go.

A

Master the tools

Work the lessons and videos until building with Claude and agents is second nature.

B

Build as one

Review each other's code, pair with agents, ship together — cowork the way the best teams now do.

C

Coordinate like masters

The lost craft: making and keeping promises, navigating breakdowns, repairing trust, knowing when it's done.

D

Prove it

Exercises and quizzes at every step — you finish certified because you can actually do the work.

Finish certified in AI-native teamwork — a path you made your own, with SE-1 in your corner the whole way.

Begin the certification

One of many starting paths — or tell SE-1 your own goal, and it builds the trajectory from scratch.
